Hurricane Arthur Was a Close Call. Ready for the Next One?

Last month saw a rainy Fourth of July for areas along the Atlantic Coast. Arthur, the first Atlantic hurricane for 2014, formed off the coast of Florida before going further up the coast to the Carolinas. Florida was fortunate in that Arthur didn’t move onshore, although the area wasn’t exactly exempt from foul weather.

Still, as Palm Harbor roofing experts well know, it could have been worse. All things considered, Hurricane Arthur was a close call. The question to ask now is, are you ready for the next one?

Forecasters with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have predicted a slow hurricane season for 2014 with eight to 13 tropical storms, the Miami Herald reported. They say three to six could grow into hurricanes and two may become major storms packing winds over 111 mph.

One of those 8 to 13 tropical storms might be the one that will do your roof in. Your priority, of course, should be your own safety, but keep in mind that when you’re home, your roof is your primary defense against the elements. Make sure it’s in good shape before the next storm hits.

Palm Harbor roofing contractor Arry’s Roofing Services knows the challenges of installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Dunedin, and the rest of Florida. Because of this, they understand the real value of pre- and post-storm roofing inspections. They know that a roof that seems okay after a storm may be hiding damage that could cause it to buckle during the next one.

Take care this storm season. Contact Arry’s Roofing for a roof inspection as soon as possible. To know more, visit www.ArrysRoofing.com.
