au_header_1Step 1. Learn about the different kinds of roofing systems we install.

  • Concrete/Clay Tile Roofing Systems. Aesthetically, many homeowners in the Tampa area are drawn to the traditional look, texture and colors of tile. Tile roofing systems can be made of concrete, rubber or clay, and are extremely resistant to severe weather. Arry’s Roofing is the roofing contractor Tampa residents trust for expert tile installation and a roof that will last 50 years or more.
  • Asphalt Shingle Roofing Systems. Asphalt shingles are the most commonly used type of shingle and come in a variety of colors and styles. Laminate shingles are thicker and heavier than three-tab shingles and add interesting color, depth and texture to a roof while lasting up to 50 years.
  • Flat and Low-Slope Roofs. These economical and durable systems include traditional built-up and modified bitumen, and single-ply membranes such as TPO, EPDM and PVC. Roof coatings are another option to waterproof a roof and extend its service life.
  • Metal Roofing Systems. Metal offers excellent durability (50 years or more), beauty and resistance to fire and wind uplift, making it a smart choice for Florida homeowners. As a St. Petersburg metal roofing specialist, Arry’s has a full sheet metal shop and a dedicated metal roofing crew.

Step 2. Explore how the Arry’s team installs each type of roof, step by step.

Step 3. Start designing your roof by choosing deck fastening or adhering method, deck protection, skylight and flashing options, ventilation and more.

Step 4. Choose your roofing material and desired warranty coverage.

Step 5. Choose from accessories such as skylights, gutters, insulation and maintenance plans.

A Special Night in Heritage Springs

Every roofing project handled by Arry’s Roofing is important. But some of our experiences as a company go beyond the work and give us a chance to help contribute to our local communities in other ways. We had one of those experiences this weekend in Heritage Springs thanks to our involvement in a fundraiser to support Special Olympics of Pasco County.

For those who don’t know, Heritage Springs is a community in Trinity and we’ve spend a lot of time there. Arry’s Roofing has been busy working on many re-roofing projects in the area, ensuring each property we step foot on has a roof in excellent condition before we leave. It’s the same high quality workmanship we bring to every community in Tampa Bay and why we’re proud to share a special night with the folks there.

Due to a prior commitment, the Housh family was unable to attend the fundraiser, but we made sure Arry’s Roofing was well represented. Jayson Hansel and his wife attended the charity event on Saturday, which has been hosted by Heritage Springs Association at Trinity’s Heritage Springs Country Club every year since 2000. Jayson shared his appreciation with us in writing.

“Hey guys! We did good tonight. We helped out a great cause —the Special Olympics. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!”

The Special Olympics has been a part of Pasco County since the 1970’s and we’re thrilled to join forces with other companies and individuals who support its mission. Every year, Special Olympians in Pasco County compete in a wide variety of sports, including bowling, softball, golf and sailing. More than 500 volunteers come together to make it all possible too.

These athletes compete at no cost to themselves or their families so support of the community is vital to ensure the program can continue to operate effectively every year. We’re proud to have the opportunity to help, and encourage anyone else interested in discover how to do the same, whether it’s through the Pasco County program or any of the programs around Tampa Bay. You can learn more about Special Olympics of Pasco County by going to the link below.

Roofing Praise from a Solar Community Member

Clearwater’s Andrew Karpinski loves his solar power and making music. When he sent a review of the work done by Arry’s Roofing, he included a link to one the songs he created for a cartoon band. It’s not about roofing; it’s about a guy dating a zombie. We’ll get to that later. First, let’s look at how we helped this Tampa Bay roofing customer.

“I want to thank you for the way your company accommodated my special needs with regards to my solar photovoltaic installation. You did the work when you said you were planning to. You also did the whole removal, dry-in, and tile installation in less than four days. This resulted in my solar electric system being shut down for less than six days, which includes the removal of the solar panels and their re-installation. Your men also allowed me to re-install the standoffs on the bare roof deck and then your men waterproofed the standoffs and their corresponding flashings, as well as the electrical feedthrough box, in the normal course of the roof dry-in, which results in a better waterproofing job than I or any solar contractor could have done and pleased the building inspectors.”

Andrew goes on to explain a serious problem he had with a previous roofer after he acknowledges one of our Tampa roofing experts by name.

“I also want to thank you for the help your people, particularly Dave Braund, gave with quotes and working with the insurance people in getting the settlement  for my damaged roof, which was damaged by another roofer who had materials delivered to the wrong house. I used your firm nine years ago when I first replaced my tile roof. Then I was very happy with the dry-in and flat roof but not so happy with the tile job. This time both jobs were well done!”

We are so pleased to hear this kind of feedback from a satisfied customer. We do handle this type of work from time to time as well. On this particular job, Arry’s Roofing didn’t install the actual solar products, but we worked with the solar contractor and made sure everything is waterproof.

As our thanks to Mr. Karpinski, and to provide you with some musical entertainment, here’s a link to an animated music video for his band Stone Marmot. Fans of zombies will especially like the song. Enjoy!

The Return of a Military Rebate

In 2012 you may have seen our blog posts, Facebook updates and Tweets about the Roofs for Troops program from GAF. The program has returned in 2013 for homeowners here in Tampa and nationwide. It all begins with contacting a GAF Factory-Certified Contractor.

Of course, you’ll need to qualify for the program first. The rebate is intended for active military, veterans and retirees living in the United States. Last year, thousands of military families took advantage of the offer from GAF through their local roofing contractors. Their commitment to installation of an exceptional roofing system came first, of course, which is why they chose to hire GAF Factory-Certified Contractors.

There are a few necessary steps to qualify for the rebate and GAF has made it simple to understand what’s involved. On a page dedicated to Roofs for Troops, you can find the rebate form to download, and even locate a GAF Factory-Certified Contractor. Also, you can see other important details, such as when the rebate period ends and the limit of one rebate per qualifying individual.

Installation of a Lifetime Roofing System is a key part of the offer. You’ll need to provide proof of your military status as well. Active Military will need to submit photocopies of a current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), and veterans and retirees need to submit a DD Form 214. Your contractor’s form is another essential part of your submission materials.

While the roof installation needs to take place during this calendar year, you will have some extra time to submit your rebate materials. As the terms and conditions state, the submissions must be receieved by January 31, 2014. Your rebate check will arrive within 8 weeks, but you can track your rebate by email or online.

We know many of the brave men and women who have served our country are from Tampa Bay or have settled here. As a Master Elite Roofing Contractor, we invite those individuals and families to contact us to discuss roofing needs and the Roofs for Troops rebate. We can schedule a time to inspect your existing roof and provide a written estimate for roof replacement.

Best Customers on Earth in Tampa Bay

2012 is almost history. But before we bid adieu to a great year, we want to share some of the moments that made the last 12 months an outstanding chapter in the story of Arry’s Roofing. Each one of them is attributed to the customers who have relied on us time and time again to repair or replace commercial and residential roofing systems all over Tampa Bay.

Let’s begin with praise from a valued customer named Mark Jiampetti, Personnel Systems Manager for a branch of the U.S. military.

“I recently received excellent service from Arry’s Roofing. It was refreshing to personally experience what customer service is suppose to be all about. It’s been a long time since I have received it. In the Air Force we use to call it “Above in Beyond”! That’s what Arry’s did! They truly delivered service with a smile from first contact till receiving the invoice. They were on spot with their timing at each phase of my roof repair and completed a $2700.00 repair in a matter of 6 hours. The job looks flawless! Thank you Arry’s for a job well done!”

Other highlights this year were made possible by the appearance of Arry’s Roofing at home shows here in Tampa Bay. At one of those shows, we met Robert Garbutt, who became a first-time customer and hopefully a long-time one too.

“I first came into contact Arry’s Roofing at a local “Home Show”. I went there to get ideas for enhancing my home’s appeal. I was in need of a new roof but it was the furthest thing from my mind. Never expected a roofing company to be there . . . I struck up a conversation with the people at the booth just to get some general information about the products and the company itself. I am completely pleased to have chosen them for my roofing needs. I could not have asked for more knowledgeable, courteous, or professional people to conduct business with! They were able to answer any and all of my questions immediately and to my satisfaction and I was totally comfortable from the start. The products used were the best in the industry as well as the warranties!! They even made sure that I would not have any more issues (leaks) until the job was completed. I shopped around and gathered several other quotes in the interim but didn’t feel right with what the other companies were telling me; or with the products they were going to use on my home; instead of what I wanted. The other companies were all too busy telling what they can’t do and what they won’t do, or what I was going to have to do….before, during, and after. Thank you Dave, Amy, Tony, Josh and everyone else @ Arry’s.”

Word of mouth from satisfied customers is how Joanne and Don Deegan heard about us, and we’re grateful for the introduction.

“We were so very pleased with Arry’s Roofing as we were referred from our neighbor down the block to contact them. We did and it was just clear sailing where they took care of everything once they saw we had a problem on our roof. The work was done in record time and done exceptionally well! Would recommend them anytime I’m asked. Loved the finished results!!”

Thanks to everyone who turned to Arry’s Roofing this year in their time of need. We look forward to meeting more of your friends and neighbors in 2013. May your New Year be a safe and prosperous one!

5 Ways to Create a Merrier December

The holiday season is certainly a hectic time for most of us. There’s so much to take care of, in addition to all the usual duties we have at home and at work. Whether you’re running a household or a small business or both, you understand how limited time can be every December. So while you’re keeping things going and squeezing in time to decorate and shop for gifts, it’s important to keep in mind ways to truly enjoy the spirit of the season.

The following list contains five ways to maintain the holiday spirit during the next few weeks. You can also invite your family to participate. As you look at this particular list, you may find your own ideas starting to flow.

1. Home safety
This is the most important one of the list so we’ll start with it. Once a week, take the time to ensure everything is functioning properly in your Tampa Bay home, especially if it’s heavily decorated inside and out. An abundance of lights and decorations can create electrical issues or become hazards if not properly placed away from foot traffic.

Do these rooftop decorations look safe to you?

2. Charitable causes
Rather than attempt to give something to every charitable organization you encounter, choose one charity to support as a family. The contribution could be monetary, it could consist of volunteering your time, or it might involve a donation of items, such as pillows and blankets to a local shelter. Find a cause that’s personal to you and enjoy the spirit of giving.

3. Reach out to someone out of touch
You may have friends or family members you have not spoken to in a long time. The holiday season is a wonderful time to check on those people, let them know they’re remembered, or mend a broken relationship with a loved one.

4. Thank a business
Write a personal thank you letter to a local business that satisfied you this year. A handwritten note is a lovely gesture, but you can also email the company or share your praise on its Facebook page or any social media page hosted by the company.

5. Make time for yourself
Sure, while it is a season of giving, it’s still okay to devote time to yourself. For some people, that may mean spending the day with a favorite activity.

At Arry’s Roofing, we’ll continue delivering plenty of holiday spirit along with the exceptional roof repair and replacement services we provide year round. If you need emergency help or want to talk about a roofing project you’d like to schedule for 2013, call us at 727-938-9565. Be sure to visit us on Facebook too.

Thankful in Tampa Bay

You may have noticed some people using their Facebook status every day to tell you what they’re thankful for. It may be the love of family or the birth of a new grandchild. It could be good news related to their health or a job offer finally came through. Whatever the reason, we hope November has been a month with many good things happening for you too.

As the holiday season starts making demands on you and your time, it’s possible you haven’t taken a moment to consider what you’re thankful for. But if you get started, you may find your list grows quickly as you pause to think about each area of your life. You could start with your family, move on to your work and then continue on to your community.

Family
Do any of the following apply to you?
I’m thankful for my spouse.
I’m thankful for my children.
I’m thankful for my parents.

Work
Do any of the following fit you?
I’m thankful for steady employment.
I’m thankful for a satisfying job.
I’m thankful for being able to pay my bills.

Community
Can any of these be added to your list?
I’m thankful for good neighbors.
I’m thankful for the peace in my city.
I’m thankful for excellent resources nearby.

As one of those nearby resources for home and business owners, Arry’s Roofing is thankful for our valued customers who rely on us in a time of need. Whether they are dealing with a roof damaged by a storm or needing to replace one due to aging, each decision maker’s choice to begin working with Arry’s allows us to provide a residence or commercial building with an exceptional roofing system in Tampa Bay. Our commitment to roofing excellence is only possible due to the customers who entrust us with installing the most important system of protection for a home or business.

Many of these customers have acknowledged their gratitude in writing and we’ve shared those thoughts on our Reviews page. Others have told us on camera why they trust Arry’s Roofing and return time after time. For their time and effort to share their experiences, we are thankful. All year long.

A Return to Tropicana Field

Photo courtesy of Tampa Bay Home Show

It’s offseason at the home of the Rays and they don’t return until April 2 when they host the Baltimore Orioles in the 2013 season opener. But long before the ump yells “play ball” again, another winning team will take the field. This week, you’ll have three chances to see the team from Arry’s Roofing at the Tampa Bay Home Show.

The Home Show opens on Friday November 9 at 10 am. That’s when Tampa Bay homeowners will first come face to face with a world of resources, experts and celebrity guests. The helpful tips, techniques and introduction to new products come free of charge, along with free parking for the event too. You’ll also have a chance to win some terrific prizes throughout the weekend.

A team from Arry’s Roofing will be at the Home Show once again to answer questions about your home improvement needs. Replacement roofing will be a hot topic, and we’ll introduce many potential customers to the GAF roofing systems available through Arry’s Roofing. Also, we look forward to helping other homeowners discover the benefits of turning to Arry’s for skylights and new gutter systems.

Visitors to the Home Show can discuss an upcoming home improvement project with an Arry’s Roofing representative, learn signs that a roof needs replacing, and see what new options for roofing materials are available through Arry’s and our roofing partners, including GAF. We’ll be on site daily at 10 am as the show gets underway and we’ll be there until the last minute to answer your questions until 6 pm on Friday, 7 pm on Saturday and 5 pm on Sunday.

During our last visit to the Home Show, we had the good fortune of seeing many familiar faces, including past roofing customers. Some of them shared thoughts about pleasant past experiences with Arry’s Roofing, which we’ve shared on our website. We hope to get more of these video testimonials over the weekend so we encourage our satisfied customers to share a few thoughts with us when they stop by our booth.

A Change in Isaac’s Path

When the weekend arrived, the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac seemed imminent. At that point, the forecasted track appeared to take it into Tampa Bay as of this morning. But, as often happens with tropical storms and hurricanes, the path has shifted and it looks like Isaac will take aim further west, perhaps making landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 hurricane.

While we may breathe a sigh of relief here, and hope for the best for those in the path of Isaac, we’re still going to be dealing with stormy weather here today. The outer rain bands of Isaac were already making their impact in Florida yesterday, flooding streets in some areas including Key West. Much of that same type of rain will fall on Tampa Bay today and be joined by thunder and lightning.

It’s certainly less of an impact than we expected a few days ago but we’re certainly not in the clear in Tampa Bay. It’s important to remember that it doesn’t take direct impact of a tropical storm to create conditions that can threaten your safety and damage your home. Heavy rains on a roof that may have a leak already can be disastrous. It can also be a serious problem if your gutter system isn’t working properly or has been clogged by debris.

Should the widespread storms affecting our area today lead to trouble at your Tampa Bay home, particularly with the roof, we encourage you to call Arry’s Roofing right away. The damage may be easy to spot. If not, we can work quickly to determine the problem spot(s) and make emergency repairs. In some cases, the damage may be hidden and take weeks or months to reveal itself, leading to more issues later on.

If you suspect your home’s best system of protection has been damaged or compromised in any way during severe weather, give us a call at 727-938-9565. We’ll be on the job quickly to make emergency repairs, document the damage for insurance claims, and ensure the contents of your Tampa Bay home remain protected. Then we’ll arrange another visit to create a plan to restore your roof—and your peace of mind.

A Shingle Standoff in Tampa Bay

Preparations for roof replacement cover a lot of areas, including budget, but one area that may cause some confusion for homeowners is selection of the optimum shingle style. If the project has two decision makers, the debate over which shingle to choose could be endless. Instead of protecting your home and improving curb appeal, you could be taking weeks to move forward with your contractor. But Arry’s Roofing can help you move past the dilemma and find the best possible solution.

Even before you call us for a free consultation and estimate, you can get better informed on your options through the company we partner with to supply Tampa Bay with the highest quality roofs. GAF, North America’s largest manufacturer, provides an overview of housing designs and the shingle options that best suit each design. In less than 20 minutes, you can review the entire page and bookmark it for future reference.

Whether your home is a Victorian, Colonial, Ranch style, you can get helpful tips from GAF about choosing the ideal shingle style. For example, the roof of a ranch-style home can have a bigger impact on its overall look than a Colonial-style design. Neutral roof colors are recommended and GAF shingle products to consider first include the distinct and dimensional Grand Sequoia, premium wood-shake option Grand Canyon, and the popular look of wood-shake Timberline Shingles. Modern and contemporary designed homes will benefit from a clean, streamlined look available in a variety of products, such as Grand Slate and Slateline.

Once you’ve reviewed your shingle options, you can remain on the page to find a professional contractor to handle the work. Type in your Zip Code to the right and you’ll discover contractors who are 10, 20 or 30 miles within your home. Scroll down to Arry’s Roofing and take note of our 128 reviews by real homeowners and our 5 awards and certifications.
