The Tampa Bay Times reports that employees of a local Tampa roofing company have been arrested for insurance fraud in connection with more than $500,000 they took for roof repairs that were never completed.
The Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Insurance Fraud says that nearly 100 homeowners in six Florida counties – including Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco – were visited by NBRC Roofing Company after storms and convinced that their roofs needed repairs. Company employees then assisted homeowners with filing claims for repairs through their homeowners insurance company. The claims they filed gave NBRC the sole right to make the repairs and the assignment of benefits for the insurance claim.
Instead of fixing the roofs, the employees kept money meant for subcontractors and left homeowners with liens on their homes.

Do not feel pressured by one-day-only sales tactics.
