Free Roof Nomination Period Winding Down

Less than two weeks remain for you to nominate a homeowner in Pinellas County to receive a free roof in 2013. The No Roof Left Behind promotion that began several months ago is close to reaching the next phase when all nominations made by July 19 get reviewed and the selection of finalists is made. That gives me a little more time to step in and help someone you know become eligible for this rare opportunity.

Whether you nominate yourself or someone you know, the process is simple. Once on the No Roof Left Behind page for Pinellas County, you’ll see a large red button that reads “Click Here To Nominate.”  Clicking the button will take you to a page set up to fill in all the necessary information required for the nomination. Before you get started, here’s a brief look at items you will need to know.

*Name and address of nominee

*Title for the nomination

*The story of nominee

*The nominee’s roof condition

*Square footage of the home

You’ll need to upload a current photo of the home. When taking one, make sure the roof is visible. You can upload more than one photo and help tell your story better.

The nomination page includes terms and conditions you must agree to before submitting. One thing you’ll see is the mention of the promo not being a lottery or contest. There is no purchase required either. One lucky homeowner will be selected per area for the free roof, as long as they meet the requirements listed below.

Nominees must own the home they are living in.
Nominees must be located in Pinellas County, Florida.
The free roof recipient must be current on his/her mortgage payments.
The free roof recipient must agree to sign No Roof Left Behind’s media release

Between now and July 19, consider anyone you know who might benefit from a free roof. This could be a friend, a relative, a neighbor, or someone whose home you pass by regularly. Of course, you’ll want to do more than identify the roof. Give your story about the homeowner and roof the color and texture it deserves. Find an interesting angle and explore what might draw a strong response from others.
