The Arry’s Roofing family has a new family living under a solid roof just installed by our team through the No Roof Left Behind program. On October 9, we announced that Kay Eikel of Palm Harbor was voted the winner of our fifth No Roof Left Behind campaign! Dozens of entries were received from local residents of Pinellas County in need of a new roof, or from individuals who wanted to nominate a friend or family member for the giveaway. A volunteer committee narrowed the entries down to four finalists, and members of the community voted on the winner. Voting took place September 12 through October 4.
Kay was nominated by her daughter, Amy Seal. Here’s what Amy had to say.
I am a single mom, my 4 year old daughter and I live with my mom who also raised me as a single mom. She works at a school helping ESE kids but her paycheck barely covers the bills, even with my help we do not have enough money for a new roof. My mom is an amazing person, she is always helping other people. She teaches Sunday School and Youth group at church, she is the leader of a TOPS group, she regularly cooks for Genealogy seminars at the library. She also takes care of her elderly mom, her disabled brother and sister, and still somehow helps take care of my daughter and me. She is extremely worried about the roof falling in on us and does not know what to do. She is always helping others, this time I want to help her get a new roof.
Our roof is about 25 years old. It started with a small leak and is now leaking in several places. We have tried to have it repaired, but the repairs did not last, they said it needed to be replaced. We have a couple tarps on the roof but water is still causing the inside ceiling to crack and crumble. We have a pan inside to catch the water. We also have several water spots throughout the house that are getting bigger. Water also sits on the flat part of the roof and I have to sweep it off regularly. Please help.
At the Installation Celebration, held the morning of October 24, our team was joined by our contractor partners at Boyle’s Aluminum & Screening and Bozarth Contractors. WDUV The Dove 105.5 was on hand to provide music, and yummy food was provided by Dunkin Donuts, Sonny’s BBQ and Mmmm Delicious Cupcakes. The kids enjoyed a bounce house from Angels Inflatables and face painting.
“It is almost overwhelming to see how many friends (and strangers) have taken their time and effort to help us,” said Kay. “I want to say thank you to everyone who voted for us to get the new roof. I am so very grateful, and I appreciate every one of you.”
“We are so happy and relieved that we don’t have to worry about this leaking roof anymore,” said Kay’s daughter, Amy. “It means a lot to us that so many people voted and supported us through this.”
